On the eighth day of donating…
Umbrella Multicultural Health Co-op is located pretty close to my place and I knew that they worked with newcomers to Canada, but I’ve been meaning to learn more about what specifically they do. So I checked out their website and saw that “As a cooperative community health centre, [Umbrella is] delivering culturally-appropriate health care to immigrants and newcomers in the Lower Mainland.”
This includes services such as:
- Cross Cultural Health Brokers
- Family Practice
- Pediatric Consultation
- A mobile clinic to serve temporary foreign farm workers
- A mom and baby group
Our mission is to provide practical access to affordable and holistic health care services that are appropriate in culture and language for those who are without access to health security*.
