Going reCAPTCHA-less
I’m conducting an experiment. I’ve noticed that I don’t get very many comments here on ye old blog lately, even though my number of readers hasn’t dropped off and a fair number of people comment on the links to my blog postings that show up on my Facebook page. I also know that the reCAPTCHA plugin that I use to prevent spam, which requires the commenter type in some words (or at least some combination of letters & numbers) has been giving more and more ridiculously difficult to decipher items ((Just ask Cath!)):
So I’ve disabled my reCAPTCHA to see if (a) it encourages you to comment and (b) if I become completely overrun with spam.
I’ll keep you posted as to how it goes!
Yay, I avoid captcha like Lindsey Lohan avoids sobriety
I can post again!!!!!!
HA – figured it was age catching up on me as I had a hard time seeing them.
Every time I tried to comment before, I’d enter the reCAPTCHA and my post would disappear. Why reCAPTCHA? WHY?
So much easier!!
flibv2! 1/25%
frzgght 1/25% !
Well, this is ironic.
I’ve tried twice now to leave a comment consisting only of the kind of nonsensical things your Captcha system used to ask me to type, and neither comment has gone through – I think they must have triggered your spam filter!
Hilarious! They were in my spam box – further proof that my blog hates you.
I like you, though, so I un-spammed them!
