NaBloPoMo – Day 22 – A List

Here’s a(n incomplete) list of a bunch of things that I want to blog about, but I’m too damn tired tonight:

  • my trip to Washington – the sightseeing that I did
  • my trip to Washington – the cool conference stuff I experienced
  • my next 101 things to do in 1001 days list (but I haven’t even finished the list – though if anyone has suggestions for things I should add to said list, I’m all ears!
  • where should my next trip be? (Given that I didn’t have an epic holiday this year, I feel like I should have one next year. Where should I go?)
  • strength training and mindfulness
  • the time I played defence in a recent hockey game
  • my favourite tweets
  • a bunch of photos that I’ve taken by I don’t think I ever got around to blogging about
  • sleep deprivation

Perhaps I’ll get to writing some of this stuff this weekend.

NaBloPoMo – Day 20 – Phoning It In

So I have to get up at way-too-early-o’clock tomorrow. I’m working over at Lion’s Gate Hospital a lot these days and while I usually take transit, I have to teach out at UBC tomorrow evening, so I have to drive to LGH so that I can get to UBC after work ((Because there is no way in hell I’m transiting from North Van to UBC or from UBC to home!). Traffic going to North Vancouver is horrifically bad. Like, if I leave by 6 am, I can get there in about 30 minutes. If I leave at 6:10 am, it will take me a hour. If I leave after that – I don’t even want to know. So basically I have to get up at like 4:45 am tomorrow. UGH.

This means that it’s way past my bedtime! G’night everyone!

NaBloPoMo – It’s only day three an I’m already (i)Phoning it in

On Skytrain. Writing this on my iPhone. Spent all day with my project group for school working on our presentation. Then to a classmate’s house for some drinks. Just remembered it’s NaBloPoMo. Will not let drinks and exhaustion defeat me on day 3!

Tomorrow, I shall write something coherent. I promised a blog posting every day. Did not promise profundity1. or complete sentences.

[Note: Due to a technical error (i.e., my iPhone 3GS is a giant pile of crap), this didn’t actually post yesterday when I clicked “publish”, so I’m posting and back-dating it to when it was supposed to have posted, had my iPhone not been a giant pile of crap and/or had I double checked when I got home that it actually posted]

  1. I think autocorrect is making it at least somewhat coherent []

Two Videos Worth Watching

It’s Friday, so seems like a good day to paste in some video embed codes for your viewing pleasure!

First up, the UBC Lip Dub video1. It is epic in its awesomeness2.

Second up, “How To Get A Guy To Notice You While You’re Having Sex With Him” from the Onion. It’s NSFW, which you should be able to tell from the title, really. And by the still shot which, of course, is already on your screen, so you may as well just watch it even though you are at work.

  2. and I even spotted someone I know in the video! []

Day 276

Tired

So many things I want to blog about, but I’m so freaking tired that I think I’m going to phone this one in and go to bed. Hopefully I will be able to catch up on some much needed sleep this weekend (since last weekend was full of way too much fun to be worried about such things as sleeping!). And this week I’ve been super busy at work trying to get a bunch of writing done as next week I have 24.5 hrs of meetings (eep!), so won’t have much time to get actual work done. And I do have *a lot* of work I need to get done this weekend – including getting going on a rather important funding application and writing seven reference letters for students1! But I expect that despite the work, my weekly Seawall walk with Jen on Saturday and my hockey game on Sunday, I will still find some time for some sleeping. At least I hope I will!

  1. though it’s seven letters, thankfully they are for just three students – each student is applying to more than one program – so I’ll be able to do repeat the same stuff when I’m writing the second (and third) reference letter for a given student []
