On the fourth day of donating…
My sister brought the Indigenous Feast Boxes GoFundMe campaign to my attention this morning. It is a fund that supports Indigenous people in the culinary industry. The industry has been hit hard by the pandemic, with restaurants at various times and in various locations being shut completely, required to only provide take-out, or operating with limited hours and capacity for dine-in. So this fund is going towards Indigenous chefs and their teams to prepare meal kits for Indigenous families in need.
In these postings, I typically include the logo of the organization. But since this is a GoFundMe campaign, I didn’t have that option. But I noticed on the campaign page that Salmon and Bannock in Vancouver is one of the restaurants that is preparing meal kits and I was able to find this photo from inside their restaurant posted on Flickr with a Creative Commons license. Isn’t the artwork lovely? Also, now I really want some bannock.
