  • Some Quick Facts About Daycare in Canada

I recently came across this report on Early childhood education and care in Canada 2008 ((since everyone I know seems to have babies all of the sudden, it’s a topic that I’m kind of interested in)) and was checking out their quick facts sheet ((it’s like having Coles Notes for the report. W00t!).  Some of […]

  • Bike Helmets

When, exactly, did everyone stop wearing bike helmets?  It seemed like everyone was wearing them for a long, long time and then, all of the sudden, I’m seeing way more people on bicycles sans helmets.  Did I miss some sort of memo?  I mean, just the other day I was out for a run and […]

This is Paul blowing out the candle for his birthday cake.  Alicia & Paul held a BBQ on Saturday and, since Paul turns 24 on Wednesday, we celebrated with cake.  Delicious cake with fresh mango and blueberries and whipped cream inside. Mmm, cake. This cake was my motivation to run 16 km yesterday evening.

  • Is this a laser which I see before me?

Because apparently August is a good time for medical procedures, I’m getting my laser eye surgery re-treatment done tomorrow. On Friday I went for the pre-op visit and everything seems to be in order. My prescription is stable, my eye pressure is good and my pupils are giagantic: Oh no, wait, that’s just from the […]

Here’s a photo of me and Dan on our recent hike up Grouse Mountain: So, happy birthday, Soon-To-Be-Dr. Dann! ((The extra […]

  • #29 – (Brief) Review of Toodledo

Long time readers will know that I’m a *big* fan of To Do lists. Well, Tod recently introduced me to Toodledo, a really cool online To Do list.  Apparently it’s linked to the system in the book Getting Things Done, which I haven’t yet read but for which I’m on the wait list at the […]

  • #26 – Past The Halfway Point!

I’m 26/49ths1 of the way through this Blogathon, to be exact.  And I have to say that this is even harder than I thought it would be!  I mean, I didn’t expect it to be a walk in the park to publish a blog posting every half hour, but I’m feel far more drained than […]
