Today the Canucks picked up free agent centreman Manny Malhotra, formerly of the San Jose Sharks. He’s originally from Mississauga, a city located next to my hometown. Also – he’s a hottie!

Apparently he’s married to Steve Nash’s sister…? (Or so my husband tells me). And Hamhuis is from Smithers, and one of the other new guys was really keen to come here too. I love having players with local ties who care about the team/city as more than just a pay cheque!
Yeah, Gillis said that Hamhuis had offers for more money, but chose to come to Vancouver for less – he made it sound like Hamhuis made that choice because he knows we are going to win the Cup. Sure, not because he’s a BC boy, right.
A friend of mine also mentioned that Malhotra is married to Nash’s sister. Darn.
